How Scoring & Fairness Works
Trust is everything in a skill game. Here's exactly how PhonePlay makes sure every Skill Arena contest is decided by skill — and only skill — with no way to cheat and no hidden house advantage.
Real opponents — never bots in the Skill Arena
When you enter a Skill Arena duel, you are matched only with another real person. If no one is available yet, we hold your entry and search — and you can cancel for a full refund at any time. We never quietly drop a bot into a ranked match, and bots are never counted as real opponents. Practice mode is solo, clearly labelled, and always free.
Honest player counts & prize pools
Tournament player counts and Fun Coin prize pools reflect real entrants only — we do not pad them with fake players. What you see is what's really there.
Skill decides the Skill Arena — never chance
Every Skill Arena game (Speed Math, WordVolt, Reaction Rush, Memory Matrix, Solitaire Sprint) is decided purely by your speed, accuracy, memory and vocabulary. There is no random result, no spinning reel, and no dealer. Reel, wheel and table games live only in the PhonePlay Arcade, are for Fun Coin entertainment, and are never part of a Skill Arena contest.
Same challenge, same start for everyone
In a 1v1 duel and in tournaments, every player faces the identical challenge under identical conditions — the same WordVolt letters, the same problems, the same timer. Nobody gets an easier board.
Scored on our servers — cheating can't win
The challenge is generated and scored on PhonePlay's servers, not on your device. Your answers are validated server-side against the correct solution (for WordVolt, every word is checked against a fixed dictionary and the shared letter rack). Because the answer key never lives on your phone, tampering with the app can't inflate a score.
Anti-cheat & collusion monitoring
We monitor for impossible scores, automation, duplicate accounts and collusion between players. Suspicious results are flagged for manual review, and confirmed cheating leads to disqualification, forfeiture and account action.
Transparent prize pools & rake
Skill Arena prize pools are formed from the Fun Coin entries of real players. PhonePlay retains a flat, disclosed 10% platform fee in Fun Coins; the remainder goes to winners (tournaments pay the top three 50/30/20). The fee is the same on every contest — there is no per-game house edge. All pools and prizes are Fun Coins with no monetary value.
Provably-fair fun games
PhonePlay's free arcade games use provably-fair generation (a published SHA-256 seed you can verify) so their fun-coin outcomes are demonstrably random and untampered. Every displayed multiplier is exactly what you get in Fun Coins — there is no hidden result factor.
Age & account checks
PhonePlay is for adults 18+. We check age at signup and allow one account per person. This keeps contests fair and limited to adults.
